Can be done quick run done of mine

Intercooler - $450 (STi TMIC)
VF turbo - $600-800 second hand
Link + Tune = $1000-1200 in your case verso
Silicon intake + pod = $450
Fuel Pump = $250

Thats the main things then just little bits that will cost abit more you already have exhaust so yeah i think with a 4-5k budget it is achievable!

By the way to be abit more reasonable i would be sort of saying mid 12s low would be pushing it for the amount of coin available!

You did a 12.4 with those mods in a light GC8, in a heavier bugeye I can't see him going 0.2-0.3 better to get a low 12 with same mods.

Kato 11-12-2007 11:14 PM

Low 12's in the GD shell with those mods 'might' be possible.

Consistently I would guess mid 12's with the mods mentioned before (vf34/tune/injectors/intercooler)

Wait a week or so and I'll be able to tell you what times that combo can run :D

P.S. for those asking I gave up with the 12 sec TD04 route. Having the parts in your shed gives you itchy feet :)

Jimmy S 11-12-2007 11:28 PM

Maybe i'll stick with the TD04 and see how it goes?

China FMIC kit 400

Second hand VF30/34 600-900

Link/Verso/Emanage 1k - 1500

Clutch 500

Decap those stock injectors.

You wont do low 12's though.

scooby99 11-12-2007 11:32 PM

Can i suggest maybe put some coin away for some brakes and suspension. All well and good having heaps of power but pretty shit if you can't stop in a hurry when required!!!

teejay 11-12-2007 11:37 PM

Stock 4 pots with some decent pads do a excellent job of pulling up WRX's.

Suspension isnt really an issue if he is simply worried about straight line, in fact the stock stuff will be better then aftermarket stuff that is generally stiffer as it allows better weight transfer towards the rear.

hehehe i love how decapping has become almost the defacto standard now days..

I remember the "you must be a moron" label that was stickered on people who had decapped injectors or were even considering the technique.

:D

teejay 11-12-2007 11:54 PM

I wish you could do it to side feeds!

If hes on a budget, they work, so why not I spose.

RichX 12-12-2007 04:47 AM

Decapping the injectors will work, sure it's a tightass method, but the alternate is paying $500+ for an extra 120cc's per injector.
