LOL Just thought I'd post this up aswell, the assessor gave my number to a wreckers that wanted the car, they were offering $1200 I said thats fine but were taking my $1500 dvd player, Jems $800 worth of speakers, momo gearknob, $1500 worth of rims with $800 worth of new tyres (replacing with stock), jems $400 tailights (replacing with stock), apexi timer, and her Genuine STI wing.

He said no deal.

LOL the rims and/or the DVD player alone are worth more than $1200 thank you very much, I'd rather part it out.

I've been with Wesfarmers myself for about 10 years. I've had 2 claims in that time (neither my fault) and they're been great to deal with - they give you a single point of contact to deal with, and generally don't try and give you any grief.

I have friends and my fiance with another company, that I won't name but it's initials are JC and the words end in ust ars, and they've had all sorts of problems.

Yeh they are alright. Some more info for people in this situation, we went down yeasterday to sign the contracts and if you choose not to sell your car to the wreckers they take the amount offered off what they are paying you. in our case $8500 - $1200 = $7300.

As people on here said dont accept the first offer, I argued you cant even get a stock RX impreza for $7000 anymore and proved it by getting the quokka and showing them. They came back with a better offer.

So remember what they tell you on the phone isn't always the whole story! Read before you sign!
