fuck sake. You will get the market value of the car, a gx.

Pull off anything you want to keep as soon as possible because you will not get the value of those parts. Keep in mind this is illegal. sshhhh.

All should be ok.

I had a 200SX that got stolen not long after purchase. It was fairly modified and they came up with a payout figure at what a stock 200SX would be worth.

I came up with a lot of receipts for the modifications, and a copy of the transfer papers with the price paid on it, and we managed to negotiate to a better position, so it can be done, ignore those who said it can't. All the best.

Thanks alot for the help guys, I have a fair idea of what can happen now. I don't exactly want $9000 for it I mean at the very least all we want is the car to be the way it was before the accident, if that means they have to find us a stock impreza and we swap our parts over and they replace the rear lights no problem. We aren't asking for like a brand new sti when all we had was a faker gc7 lol, just want back what we already had, its not much to ask.

I'll keep you all informed as to what happens, as I'm sure they will be calling sometime this week, if not I'll be calling them.

Robby, sorry to hear mate! Like Bakks said, it can be done. My S13 wasn't insured when I had my big smash, I got paid for it by his insurance, and I kept what was left of the car, which I managed to strip parts and make almost 10k So I turned a 1989 SR20 S13 300rwhp pig worth 15k at the most into near on 25k. Keep firing bullets at them if they try dog you. Congratulations on the engagement anyway! Where's my bucks night invite I haven't seen you for a while! PS. Remember that chick who we got pissed in then drove her home in the S13 thinking we were funny, then she yacked in the back haha!!

I would go the easy route....

Unless you can provide receipts for the mods done to the car I would...
Strip the car of mods while its still in your possession. DO IT NOW !!!

The other party's insurance can then pay out market value on the a standard GX.

Anything else will be a bloody headache.

Good Luck.

Ok I just got of the phone with the insurance company, this is how things will be going:

The car has over $4000 worth of damage so they will be sending an assessor out to value the car pre-smash. I asked about all the mods and she said that there assessors take it ALL into account, even though assessors from other companies might not.

She said that if the car IS written off they then come up with a payout figure for the value of the car in total before smash (including mods). They then send me (Well Jem) a cheque to this amount and ring up pickles to find out how much they will buy the wreck for. It is up to me whether or not pickles take the wreck the car stays in my (Jems) possession, it is up to us whether or not we sell it to pickles.

So the good news is we get to keep the car and all of the parts aswell as get a payout.

Thanks alot for the helps guys and I hope this topic helps others who are in this situation but you need to remember that this is WFI, other companies do this differantly apparently.

I have suggested to Jem to go with WFI because of the way they have dealt with this accident, very professionaly

Sweet take the cash put it on black at the casino and you can double it, keep repeating this step until you have enough to buy a ferrari. I tried it once, but never got that ferrari.

Post a pic of the damage, you'd be surprised at how cheaply these things can be to fix if you do a lot of the stripping etc yourself, I've got a complete rear beaver cut for a GC that I need to get rid of & bumpers boots tail lights etc are as cheap as chips, just depends on how bad the damage is at the end of the day and don't listen to the dicks who say they would never drive or repair a damaged car, half their cars have probably been in some kind of accident.............they just don't/wouldn't know it.
