This thread is great! I will have to dig through my collection of mags and photos when time permits and make some additions!

Just a few NGH quickies here though,

This was just after Nat had the bodykit fitted -

Getting ready for the colour change

Curiously enough people asked about the silver numberplate. The brushed aluminium numberplate was actually the dpi plate. It had gotten bent during it's life so when I straightened it out some of the paint flaked off. Not having time for a re-issued plate some paint stripper and some careful wirewheel usage ensued -

I remember seeing NGH as one of my first modified WRX's (when I was a little tacker in NSW). Even back then I thought it would look so much better without the graphics all over the body.

Ramon, probably the first "heavily" modded WRX in WA was a red MY94/95 owned by Dr Andrew Sigmund (I think?)who went on to work as the team doc for SWRT for a few years in the late 90's. Ask Rob about it...I remember amongst other things it had heads sent interstate for major work, forgies, MMS chip, etc, etc. I remember that it also had rather large spacers with long studs which pushed the wheels right out to the edge of the guards.
A real sleeper...

I also remember seeing a green GC8 at the drags way back in the day, I think it ran 10's or 11's. Im pretty sure it was running methanol too. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

No julian ??? white MY94. First street wrx to have the "venturi" dump pipe, 25psi, straight cut box and thouse oh so beutiful 18 inch speedlines with massive offset - so big the rear guards were pumped 30mm and by pumped I mean cut and perfectly lipped. I loved that car, first time I ever got fully sideways with smoke billowing off all 4 wheels - circa 1995

modified and "heavily" modified is in the eye of the beholder. no disrespect to those early pioneers but i fear they haven't had a lasting impression on the scene? that car along with another prodrive blue 95 was one of the very first into the mid 12's (in 1997) along with the green 96 [ANTHONY] which was infamous at the time later painted in ppg harlequin. his brother later bought that prodrive blue only to continue playing with it up until a few years ago. one of my all time fav's was James Ling's MY97. The first perth wrx ever featured in ZOOM magazine.

Julian?, the man slut......... Classic! LOL.....He used to live with me in Scarborough....That's the WRX that got me hooked on Subaru (and the first I ever drove).

"It felt rough, so I drove it back from Adelaide off boost"....... Number 4 piston crown was holed!

I swear that man could pickup women anywhere.....he was a machine!

And he could drive....He was offered a run in Group N at one stage iirc.
