Ive never ever used it, what's it for? And can it be used with my current problem?
Also there is a little black tag, and all it has written on it is "please retain this code tag"
Is that a scanable type tag is it?
Sorry to partially hijack, but I have a little black tag with my keys and I always wondered what the hell that is for, can someone explain its purpose?

If it has numbers on it it is usually the key code which you are supposed to keep in a safe place in case you lose your keys.

There is no number on it. All it says is retain this code tag.
Im guessing they can scan it like an RFID or seomthing...

I can hotwire it, but like google says, i can only get it to run for 3 seconds til the factory immobiliser kills it.

So what i need is someone with an ODB tool that can recode a key FOB to the car...
Once a new key is matched to the car, all old codes are wiped.
Which solves all my problems, deadshit's key no longer works and i can use my MY00 keys in it.

Anyone got the device, software and leads?

Diamond's said its not as easy as repinning and gave me a quote for 2 new keys and all locks to match for $1100.
If you are interested I have a 98 ignition barrel with matching key and a barrel to suit drivers door. Will cost around $30 each barrel at diamond lock to recode the ones for your boot and pass door.
You will need to recode this key to suit your car. PM me an offer if interested.
