So would it be right for me to say that all the 40 year old 'typical' Camry drivers are all stupid and can't drive for sh*t from what I've witnessed EVERYDAY on William Street, Northbridge... That or it's older Asian drivers lol (I'm Asian myself)

Seriously, stereotyping will always happen (just as I have done above regarding Asians) but that's not the point... People can stereotype Performance Car Drivers/Owners all they want and it's human nature for people to do that from what they witness, ie. What you saw the other night at the Servo... The point is the media is being a bitch and misinterpreting or misleading the public to thinking one way and generalising the idea that ALL Performance Car Drivers/Owners are bad. Never will they credit those who promote safe driving and take their performance driving skills to the track, they'll only pick on those who screw it up in public and give ALL of us the title of "hoon".

Sorry but I had to rant. What makes this frustration worse is that it cannot foreseeably get better and I personally don't see any way for the media to get off our backs.

LOL Asian drivers are their own biggest critics. I just LOL at the box of tissues in every asian drivers back window, and the big stick on rear view mirror... now THAT is stereotyping.

At the end of the day, people will Hoon, nomatter WHAT cars they are in, they are just more successful at it when in fast cars.. hence why WRX's get such a bad wrap. IF it goes fast, it gets noticed.. if its loud, people hear it.. You won't notice 40 year old dad in his 1999 Toyota Camery doing 120 on the Graham Farmer.

Ultimately would banning the OP be of any benefit to this forum?
The damage has been done once the show went to air =/

On the stereotyping business...

I, for one, have got to the stage that I hardly ever drive my wrx any more, simply because it attracts so much unwanted attention (from the popo and the public).

Yes, I customized my car, and I admit it sticks out a little. Does that make me a child raping, granny bashing hoon?

I have attended a countless number of AHG/RAC type driving training days, never lost my license, nor have I received an infringement notice of any kind for the last 5+ years. I've held a full C and R class license for 10years, but have been driving (and riding) motorized vehicles since not long after I was able to walk. I can handle a car more than adequately in my opinion, be it at speed in a straight line, or opposite lock drifting between trees on the property I grew up on.
I save the "hooning" for race track type venues and private property, yet, like I said, when I drive one public roads in my wrx I get evil looks from Joe public.
What are they basing this judgment on? Media hype (along with eye witness accounts/personal experiences).
Up yours TT/ACA.

yeah yeah, i know CSB/high horse blah blah blah.

blue fully sik torana did, silver wingless 99/00 gc8 almost "drifted" into my side doors. All cars came along armadale rd heading westwards towards freo and decided to stop around the shops for a little skid.

i never said all wrx drivers are hoons, simply said some ppl are making a bad name for the rest of us. And yes it's a stereotype but everyone does it...just like saying all coons are useless parasites...ohhh hang on that's not a stereotype
