140km/h is the speed you're thinking of, however the Officers involved in the chase can request to exceed that speed limit if it's feasible/reasonable to do so.

I've heard that they're looking to change this though so that the Officers are not to follow as it can increase the chance of any fatalities or anything of the like. Being considered but don't think it's gone ahead yet.

Looked like the WRX had custom plates [COVERT] or similar. Had gold Avanti rims too.

Not having a go at anyone here but i think I do understand the public a little bit. This saturday night i was filling up at the BP petrol station and witnessed 3 wrx and a torana doing burnouts in the local shopping centre. It was around 3am so not many cops around....on my way out of the petrol station i was almost side swiped by one of them as he tried to pull a drift which didn't quite work.

So if I'm a 40 year old camry driver I'd be inclined to say to dickheads/hoons/whatever you wanna call them drive mostly wrxs.

It does sound like one of those "cool story bro" stories but i was annoyed at the time as these sort of dickheads give the rest a bad name.
