Its not legal if its sitting in your guard.. It just means the copper who pulls you over can't see the pod filter and give it a shake and go 'hey, its unsecured.. Canary bitch!'

Under the new NCOPS iirc, any aftermarket Pod filter needs to be secured in TWO locations, although the majority of the time the Pits will let you go on one if it is a good and sturdy secure fix (Like the Injen Intake). If you act like a wanker though, theyre going to clip you for both.

Its true, the jacks don't know jack shit about what theyre looking at under the hood, but they have been trained to look for shiny bling bits, they know what Pod Filters look like and a couple of other things (I LOL'ed at the copper trying to grab the Wastegate story)

I too have also had a copper before walk around to the front of my car and ask me to pop the bonnet before also....Only problem is I was driving my MR2..

It seems you have a 94 WRX, if that's the case you shouldn't have a problem providing you are running the standard computer as they will pretty much self learn, maybe if Rosco hadn't been so fucking lazy and done a search of your profile he'd have seen that

12.5:1 Afr's, ping is powa, she'll be right.

Just for you Jme!

P.s Pimpreza: Who's 'Rosco'? You'd know they learn ignition timing not fueling if you'd researched.

Rosssco, I've got/had a similar one on my 94 WRX and have a Bunnings home made one on my 97 STI, cars run fine for the past 5yrs.

Yeah, some do ok / some don't.....also depends on if the stock airbox is retained or not.

I reckon the 99-00 are the most sensitive to intake of all GC years.

Regardless, it's safer to at least have the afr's checked.
