I wonder how many people were caught (and simply paid up) by Multinovas with two cars in the frame which has been challenged successfully on many an occasion. I wonder why the new Poliscans do not take two timed photos allowing for the speed to be confirmed by distance covered over known time.

I recently had a dinner with a couple of state and federal politicians who all openly stated that they are well aware of the fact that speed cameras do not increase road safety but are simply revenue raising.

I personally hope that he does win and , hopefully, the government is forced to deal with some of the greater issues of inappropriate driving such as failing to keep left, driving with a GPS in the middle of the windscreen, unroadworthy vehicles, etc.

Most road reports state that approximately 30% of accidents involving serious injury or death involve excessive speed (and what does excessive speed really mean) - what is our powers that be doing about the other 70%?

EDIT - I just returned from Thailand where it seems that road speed and often road rules are barely enforced. However, it seemed to me that the road system seemed to operate a lot better on poorer roads with a greater level of courtesy from it's users. I wonder why that is? Perhaps it that when left to our own devices we all take into account other vehicles and the appropriate driving style rather than some arbitrary enforcement of a given speed.
