I don't think mine is particularly over priced, but haven't received any real love yet... It is within cooee of redbook's upper limit, but it has much lower km's than the average.

On a similar topic, why are people scared to call these days, its much easier than typing a SMS, as you get to converse and ask questions about said car and gain a response immediately. I'm sick of having to reply to your questions about the car in numerous messages.

Just ring them back - you have their number.

The more effort you put in to sell your car the more likely you will.

For what it's worth there are some good cars coming up on this forum for sale all the time. Many I would like to run out and get a loan for.
But I gotta stick to my plans so....won't be doing that until late in the year at least.
Which is a bit frustrating to be honest.

MCL yours is 24 now right? I remember seeing it for 27 or something when i was still looking....at that time i thought it was pretty expensive but 24 is pretty good man....looks like a really nice car too....

And yeah when i sold my car i'd just call people that sms-ed me back....

Some of the time you hear this immature 17 year old on the other line talking shit and you just hang up....saves spending time typing huge sms replies...

I reckon MCL's car is right at the sweet spot in terms of price and what's on offer.

I'd like to throw up a possible answer to the OP's original question:

Exterior looks/styling are the 1st thing that people think of when deciding which car to buy.

My thoughts are that the classic GC8 is still the best looking WRX right down to the aggressive styling and even the tail lights! It's body shape and stance were uniquely Subaru and even these days it is still a winner. When you saw one, you didn't have to guess what car it was. Considering it had basically the same body shape for 8 years, it had gained a popular reputation, backed by WRC successes.

NOT having a go at the many post GC8 owners on here, but from the bugeye onwards, the opinion of many, perhaps most, is that FHI dropped the ball and have never fully recovered from it. Even from the enthusiast's view the bugeye is generally seen as a letdown in the looks dept. Then followed the peanut eye, pig-nose, ugly betty and the latest styles I'll simply call the mazda with a scoop. Do these descriptions say something?

Now, we all know that the selling point for a car is not based on body style alone, but it is the 1st point of reference and where the emotions start for any prospective buyer. With recent models looking like piggies, betties and mazdas, I believe they kinda get lost in the myriad of other makes & models of cars on the market. Add to that, the fact that the GC8 was a much rarer beast, especially up to the MY98, with popularity increasing several fold on the MY99-00. With the end of the GC8 era and the legacy it produced, the WRX lineups and increasing numbers produced continued up to the present time to the point of flooding the market to a fair degree. I don't have exact figures but I'll wager that there are far more WRX's of each model year than the previous one and the larger numbers have caused the later models to be a bit ho-hum and more blended into the surroundings.

I think the GC8's are classics, streets ahead in the looks dept.

BUT, the others are rapidly growing on me, even the bugeyes, which have a certain charm of their own....
