Hatch is far more practical. I love the fact I can fit almost anything in the back with the seats folded down)... The Sedan is good if you don't ever use the boot.

I was considering the STi hatch, and would probably have bought one for the right price, but there are next to none available in the 2nd hand market at the moment(at a reasonable price anyway)...

For the record, I am buying a daily, and have a baby seat... Still buying an Evo tho...

Hatch 3
Sedan 4

It's close choice.

I can wait for the price to go down abit (Sometime next year). I just don't want to make a wrong choice.

I already have 2010 Nissan Dualis Ti for big cargo space and currently drive 2004 Nissan Skyline V35 coupe on weekends. But, I still like the hatch look. I don't know why.

Dude... WRC Car only went hatch because they stopped making sedan WRX's... (And probably werent allowed to hence why no Mitsu or Toyota left in WRC.)

Dave would know more about the why's.

If you are planning to get an MY09 or MY10 STI you have 1 choice - Hatch.. The sedan's only came out in 2011.

Please make my vote = Evo

p.s - If you're set on the STi... Hatch is win... even if you're waiting until next year to purchase, the Hatch will always be better value... Especially as the current stock issues from Japan means that there will be significantly less MY11's sold, so the 2nd hand market will take a while to get many through!

Obviously if you're willing to pay new car dollars, then this is irrelevant... just make sure you sign on the dotted line 3 months before you actually want the car!

Being one of those people who have owned the hatch and sedan versions of the 08+ range, I'm torn between the two models.

The hatch was extremely practical, you can fold down the rear seats and remove the cargo blind and fit some rather large items in there!
I managed to move my sister, her partner and a nice new 40" sony bravia all the way from city west to Baldivis without any issues at all

You don't really have this option with the sedan, but I feel that the security of the car is greater than that of the hatch.
What I mean is that you can lock some gear, be it expensive or cheap, in the boot and no one would know its there.
Unfortunately you can't do this with the hatch as you can see down either side of the cargo blind and it wouldn't take much effort to smash the rear window, pull the blind and grab what you can.

tl:dr.
Torn between the two but I'm leaning towards the hatch especially if your going to get rid of some ride height and get some 18x9 tyres on there

Hatch +1
