Swapped the STi for a GTI last year and can't see myself ever going back to a sedan.

As for locking stuff in the boot they will just smash the drivers window and pull the release ( or did the lever get deleted on the newer models? ). Sux if you can see down the side of the security blind in the hatch though. The GTI is a proper moulded shelf with no gaps.

The lever is still there, pretty sure on the USDM models that you can lock it out with the key.
Any way, I should have rephrased my the comment about the boot, with the cargo blind you can see down the side and see if anything is there.
You can't do this with the boot so I think the risk of a smash and grab might be less

Amazing how when the hatch came out, everyone went 'eww a hatch'. Bitched and moaned they wanted a sedan, which then was released.

Now they are all saying to get the hatch over the sedan...

Dave would know more about the why's.
Actually, they stopped making the sedans to make the hatch. Mainly due to the success of the Peugots. If you look at the last Mitsu WRC car, it tries to turn the boot into a hatch with a gay ass double spoiler.

Same. If anything the Evo services seem cheaper.

(Other than SST stuff which is like replacing a clutch).
