Stace, still too early to truely see what the out of the box motors will be like for longevity. Std they are definetly nicer to drive and quite deceptive. I am in the same boat as Sirix, I have zorst, CAI, silicon intake ready to be fitted, waiting for FMI availibility and decision on ECU is pretty tough for me.
I will not be running crazy boost on these things as I don't want to be rebuilding... However I think 18 psi with breathing mods and safe tune should still see a quick reliable car.
I think Wai has put his on the WOKs dyno std already?? not sure on std out of box kw for the 06 Sti now.

My old bugeye did 188kw on the WOK (178 on DD in shoot out) and to be honest I thought it was quick enough for the street...
If I could get a bit extra for the above mods on the 06 I would be pretty happy.
Al

Hey tino, I did that with my old motor, and it still managed to get blown up by someone in Perth!

Yeah i heard paul, its funny that a lil thing like a head gasket could be the end all of that engine..

my engine is fine apart from burning a bit of oil. its just the supporting mods never followed through so we'll never know. i will just do a fmic and get the thing tuned and leave it at that. then i will save for my boat. a boat towing a boat.

the torque makes a huge difference. even on stock ecu. much nicer to drive.

this is an unopened (still with magic inside UDSM 2.5L) thats done 20,000kms.

stock twin turbos, stock ecu. putting the unishit back in and tuning it after the fmic goes in. running a fujitsubo exhaust, air filter, and an abc-r.

the juices that leak out are of the punani kind.

I have done 10,000 kms in mine and 9,000 kms with the current mods, it's easy to get an extra 50 kws at the wheels with a few basic mods. I have been running mine on 19 psi the whole time and it hasn't missed a beat.

It's my fourth Rex and the quickest by far.

Motor dynoed a standard 06 STi and got 157 kws atw. MRT claim that with a reflash tune only = an additional 30 kws, so with the rest of your mods, 200 kws atw is easily achievable. According to MRT the 06 Airbox breathes extremely well and they have achieved losses fitting a CAI with ECU etc.

Cheers.

MMS have done heaps of 06 STis with TEK 2, 500 HP Walbro Pump, Zorst and 19 PSi. MMS claim 50 kws atw gain and a total of 500 NM which is great for towing the Bayliner
