the only decent guy ive heard of with power fcs is some dude from xspeed. think its anthony. But they are still about 2k fitted and tuned. Power fc still requires ur afm which is a prob in the my00 and older.

Please explain WHY the AFM is a problem? I am sure Subarus engineers would be interested.

The AFM designed used in MY99/00 is prone to failure due to oil from the air filter or other contaminants. This is one of the main reasons many people upgraded their ECUs to either a Link, Autronic or Motec as these ECUs use MAP and IAT and allowed the removal of the AFM.

Yeah my AFM got stuffed from using a K & N Filter (oil based). My car is a MY00.

Yes the MY99/00 AFM has a higher failure rate then other models but there are small precautions stop this from occuring which most people are already aware of.

AFM definatlly has it's merits and shouldn't be wirtten off just because of a slightly higher failure rate.

Maybe people should not heavily oil the filter..

Maybe use a filter that does not require the oil (paper based)..

At higher horse power and greater air flow, obvisouly much greater than stock figures, the AFM is beyond its capabilities, and MAP is a much better alternative.

There are plenty of ppl who have had AFMs die on them, and they are not cheap to replace.

It is possible to put a larger Diameter AFM in and they arn't that expensive. They don't die every week.

Plenty of 400+ KW GTR's kicking around perth running AFM's.

Hang on all of the 10 second lines are.

Regardless Power FC is still an option with lots of tuning knowledge.

Why not rescale the voltages and correct the airflow calculation?

After that, run what ever you want.
