Agreed on the boot size... Which is why I deliberately did not show the mrs before purchasing!

Although.. unless it is going to be your regular family car, I've found it more than adequate! still fits a fold up ladder and a stroller in easily... and as has been mentioned, the room in the back seats is definitely better than most other cars of its class/size!

I'll stand behind my choice and recommend the X!

That is why I said the interior room is bigger

It was more of a don't be put off thinking a car is small or not suitable until you have physically looked at one for your needs.

Second hand rumors to follow- well this the interwebs-
the new VWs are reliable when new. They are quite complex, not just the turbo/sc motors, so the advice for owners of VWs more than about 5 years old is to find a mechanic with good experience of that model.
I'd like to hear some owner's opinions on maintaining and repairing 2005 and older VWs.

Apparently, my friend who drives a caddy has said 100k kms is the mark for these cars.
He has driven 3 caddys, all of about the same vintage kms wise they all did gearboxes (manual) within 1000kms of each other. I think it was 105k kms.
