Scam. The same email i had when i was trying to sell my caravan. I replied to them to have another look at the photo's and that it only had two wheels. Never heard back from them. Also had it when i was selling a car and i had to pay $3k for the shipping and then they will add $3k to the price.

I had the same via text messages. Apparently they con people somehow into giving their car to the "courier" that attends your house and they even pay the courier fee for the "buyer" on the promise of getting paid back. Plus the seller obviously never sees any money. But hey, if they deposit x amount into your paypal, I'd transfer it to a safe place first, then give it to courier. HAHA, like that will happen.

Yeh we got the same email as well, only that they wanted to pay an extra 1k to us and we transfer 1k to a western union account.. because that seems so fu*n logical!

I had that happen to me when I was selling my integra, a SMS then followed up via email.

she said she was:
-on an oil-rig
-the car was for her sister-in-law in NSW
-she had to pay via PAYPAL because of her bank account security set-up.
-they offered me $1200 MORE THEN WHAT I WAS ASKING!
-and they didn't want to come inspect the car: they just wanted the papers and the keys.

It's a load of BULL clearly.

had the same issues selling the 'sti' a few months back:

*people sms asking for personal email address 'as they thought its an easier way to contact me'

*SMS from non australia mobile numbers

*get an sms saying will pay $2x,xxx for the car, call back the number few minutes later. Person ask what car are you selling, proceed to tell them the car and then they said nar i'll pass?

there are plenty of interesting scammers out there, nothing beats getting a bank cheque / going down to the bank with the potential buyer to transfer the funds.
