I would sugest you remove the box again. Possibly the step on the flywheel is too high? or the spline in the clutch plate is wrong and slipping on the input shaft? It has to be internal, get it apart and critically inspect everything.
Is there any drive at all? ie; slips a bit or no drive at all whatsoever? |

It appears the diaphragm is warped, sometimes if the pressure plate is not tightened slowly and evenly side to side. Why are you using non genuine clutch cover bolts? Any chance they may be too long and bottoming out in the threads?

long shot, have you put the clutch fork pin backing( the big one that the clutch fork pivots on) is it in correctly ?

Mounted up on the bench the clutch plate spins when I try turning it with a pair of stillsons using a dummy shaft My only thought right now if that the diaphragm is warped too much to apply correct pressure to the clutch plate... Sent from my GT-I9210T using Tapatalk 2 |

The flywheel could be faulty. We purchased one froma wreckers yard once that had been in a major frontal accident. (they didn't mention that) When it was machined prior to installation the centre hub was bent enough that it caused uneven clamping.
Can you measure the step height on the flywheel around all the mounting points to rule that out as well? Was the flywheel machined at all? |

Didn't look like it had been machined, came off an 06 sti from japline, will measure it tomorrow, I'm pretty sure that I've got the right measurements written down somewhere,

14.7 mm step is the factory spec. 15mm is what most clutch manufacturers recomend.
It would pay to get it machined just to rule out any imperfections or warping. Perth Brake Parts is my preferred contact for flywheel machining. |
