I thought the standard EJ207 heads flowed really well?
I dont want to have to remove the front impact bar, and also like i said, want the stock look. Police are very picky these days.

Stock heads and cams won't get you 350-400.
V3 RA likes this.

exactly...Get heads flowed, 264 or 272 cams, springs, retainers, valves etc etc

I sent my heads to Tony Knight in SA along with 6k, but I'm chasing a bit more power than you.

I suggest you read Rosscos thread on his old version 6 or Gavs thread.

Even better, Rossco's old car is for sale and I'm sure you could buy Gav's for the right price also. Which will be a cheaper option in the long run.

Either thread will be a good start. I'm fairly sure Gav went with 272 cams in the end, but don't forget that Gav, Ross and myself all run a 2.2L (2.1345 to the power of recurring to be precise). Also, yes, much cheaper to buy.

The stock v5/6 STi or v7
They are not quite same same as far as I'm aware
Yeah from memory, V5-V6 Sti EJ207 had open deck, with forged pistons.

V7 STi EJ207 Semi-Closed Deck and forged pistons.

Look for an 02+sti cut, throw in cams & springs, headers turbo and gate...and you will require fmic

Sell off leftovers and you might be able to do it for 12-14k..... much less(or spend saving on better bits) if you can cover some labor yourself....

Easy 350hp, maybe 400 if you play your cards right and have good fortune.

Remember you do have to pay for power....and don`t do it if you can`t accept the risks of handling live grenades...pin out.

You should end up with a pretty decent set-up...gd207etc, 6spd, brembos, wider track improved geo suspension...avcs and more depending on cut year

It all depends where you look. Crackheads wanting 6k for boxes are just rorting people now.

std 02+jdm sti piss in 400hp...will go 500+ if your brave enough....they are decent and its not a must to port.

good porting will however allow you to make power with less boost easier.

Wanna run 420+ yes you must port too some degree, but 300-350 your not going to improve the your speed enough vs cost to make it a wise spend(jdm heads im talking w/valve train&cams of course). Brave turbo selection and some balls with desired boost/tune aggression...take the risk, plays a big factor(95% puss out on these fronts and thus achieve not much...if they just went that extra step things come alive)

Best thing I said to my tuner was, work your magic lets make some power and I will not be upset if you lunch it...that just means it needs to be built stronger to do what I need.
