Good luck to finding somewhere to get to 250 in a stock wrx, just because the cluster goes upto 260 doesn't mean the car will.

Have you tried giving your VIN to either AMCAP or a Subaru Dealership?

You should be able to achieve your desired result by e-mailing Subaru directly. I don't know what division you'd need to get in contact with but I do know a lot of people do write in to get verification on their muscle cars etc.
