Default 2011 STI or Version 5/6

I currently own a 2011 STI, it's my fifth WRX/STI. I've gone from 2000 WRX (x2) thru a 2005 Rex, a 2007 STI and now my current 2011 STI.
You can see I've just progressed thru the years with a newer Rex each time.

It's got me thinking though, having never owned or driven a Version 5/6 STi would you get a classic STi over the newer models?

I know the newer models have all the fruit on them, better brakes, better gearbox,.. etc, but the old model has that nostalgic feel to them and, although subjective, they look better too.

I'm toying with getting an older STI over a 2011 STI, not sure it would be a daily drive though.

What do you reckon?

New or Old and why?

Old ones look awesome for sure, but they are getting to that age where constant repairs will be taking place. New suspension, all sorts of bushes, engines/mechanicals are getting long in the tooth. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a nice v5 like krazcool's one for sale, but I'd pick the newer STi

You can't beat the look of the older ones in my opinion but finding good examples with low k's and without the usual problems of cars that old is becoming harder and harder. With the possibility of it not being a daily driver finding an older one and doing it up while still keeping the 2011 may be an attractive proposition.

I'm in love with the V5's at the moment. As the years go past finding a mint condition V5 is going to be rare so driving and owning one will be a privilege. Things going to plan I may be the owner of one of the cleanest V5's going around in Perth tomorrow. Can't wait

Didn't go through with the purchase today but if "Chris" is in the market to sell would be happy to have a look.
