If you're going to spend $1900 on an exhaust, go see Norm Butler in Kewdale and get a custom made exhaust.

Not many people responded because it seems like you didn't use the search function.

Thanks for the referral but I live in Brisbane as mentioned in my first post (I realise this is a perth forum but it seems to be the most popular/useful in Australia).

I have actually done quite a bit of searching on this forum and others which is how I came across the nvidia and xforce options. Havent found much on ces racing.

I wouldn't be asking questions if I already had the answers. Steep learning curve and I am at the bottom. I appreciate any help given.

Go for the invidia. Invidia is very good quality for its money, i would get a exhaust shop to weld a plate on the downpipe to seperate turbo outlet and waste gate, just like the Norm bulter design.

I have been looking at the q300 from here: http://www.prospeedracing.com.au/pro...wrx-sedan.html

Pictures appear to show there is already a flange on the downpipe for that function. Am i seeing that right?

Is $1,900 a reasonable price? How much would it cost to get it fitted?

I have been looking at the Q300 from here: Invidia Q300 Turbo back Exhaust suit 08-10 WRX Sedan - Pro Speed Racing

The pictures of the downpipe seem to show it already has a flange to separate turbo outlet and waste gate. Am I seeing this right:

Hi all. I have a 2009 WRX (sedan) and I am looking to make some improvements.

I have been reading on lot on these forums and others but there is a lot of info out there and its hard to work out the good from the bad. My car is a daily driver and I don't go to track days or anything like that (not that I wouldn't be interested in that).

I am after some advice about the following performance mods (total budget around $4k give or take - will consider what is needed really).

Goals: more power, more noise (but not too loud or drone), reliability. Not looking to do anything radical and just want to keep it simple and reasonably low cost.

1. Recommended turbo back exhaust?

A couple of options I have been looking at include:
- invidia exhausts (Q300 or N1?)
- CES Racing (New Items-Custom Exhaust Specialists-CES)

Which out of these or other is recommended?

X-Force or invidia performance will be the same

2. Recommend tune method and recommended tuners in South East Queensland region (I live in Brisbane)

No one in WA is going to know of SE QLD tuners - do some local research

3. Anything else essential or highly worthwhile?

Grimmspeed 3 port solenoid is a goer based on advice below.

By a MAC 3-port from any Industrial Pneumatics supplier same valve less money - Part#35A-AAA-DDBA-1BA

Be aware that you need to have this valve fitted at the same time as having a tune done - it requires different mapping to the stock solenoid.

I'd be factoring in a higher capacity fuel pump in to your costs for long term reliability - Walbro or Bosch - speak to who ever is going to do your tune.

Comments/advice appreciated (totally new to this and never modified a car before).
See above
