Have tried and encouraged a few younger ones to get into RAC Days, however
$80 for 3 hours
$100 Helmet
and a drivers license

it is all too expensive bra, I can stand in a car park and be an expert racer for free.

I have always struggled to get members from behind the screen to come to a BBQ / Boobies / pizza night

On antilag they sell out in hours............

Prove me wrong P-WRX and show up in numbers to Craig's BBQ

I have never quoted myself but........ I appreciate your not having a go directly at me and in the interests of personal bbq development

search my bbq / ribs threads, tell me how I can organise them better to attract more wrx owners - maybe do it for free

PS, im toying with the idea of doing a Booze, Boobs & BBQue on the 24th January 2016. $80 to $100 per person. all you can eat, drink and oggle.

You heard it here first!

sorry but blah blah blah - this has come up more than once - oh hang on insert 'search is your friend' here bullshit.

Simple answer - when this was all new it cost circa $35-45k (hell that was over a years pay for me in '93 when I bought my 1st subaru) to buy one and then mods etc were hard to find other than an exhaust and springs let alone tuning a car.

Stance did not exist

Facebook did not exist (we had egroups)

Flash fwd - GC8's now cost the equivalent of a VK commodore of the day, large percentage of young blokes will go elsewhere when they pop a motor etc

The basic part of it all is to be part of a car community back when you actually gave a shit and it involved more than touching "F" on your smartphone.

Look at any "club" or forum - they are all struggling, number can't be filled for track days, generally posts are down daily, cruises are full of mongs.

Sorry there is no real solution as the baller, yolo shit culture is rife through cars and Subaru's are not immune.

I think the slowing down of P-WRX it has a lot to do with the changing landscape of social media. Facebook is great for some things, like say you want a quick response to a question, sharing some photos or a video. But as has been stated quite a few times before its full of twits with no decorum or knowledge to speak of.

Forums are still the best source of information, but for the most part aren't as easy to engage with, Maybe putting a face to a name might improve that somewhat.

I'd be all for RAC events (Watching or Racing doesn't bother me), Social Gatherings or Cruises.
Top-Deck, amtrapid and yang like this.
