Personally I don't go to cruises any more. Too much negative stigma, hooning etc associated with them all. Fucksticks everywhere. Perth-WRX would be the only ones as they have been organised well in the past. Track days, tuning sessions and such only for the most part now attract my interest.
Maybe a BBQ or something low key at best. This forum is being eaten away by social media as people have said. The forum could do with an an upgrade and re-vamp, take a look at the banner up top?? The forum version is 3.8.7 and version 5.0 is out. *rollseyes* At the end of the day, someone or a group of people need to drive it all, and there is simply a lack of engagement / can't be fucked factor. Dare I say, Perth-WRX may eventually die and become a fucked domain name like rexnet.com.au that merely represents what once was.

So....
What needs to be done..... I for one, hate what FB has done to the world. Instead of getting out and about amongst it, people prefer to look on FB. Well, no one is forcing you to be this way. You can still continue on. Someone just needs to step up and take charge to keep the old times a-rollin

Future of PWRX
Quote:
Happy to be involved in revamp and possibly formation of an unofficial committee of sorts to get some traction with the forum again. Afaik, stace is still in charge of the website, hopefully we can get in touch with him to make some changes. This forum has always been crowd funded and managed by members, so I'm sure if we get the right people involved and pushing things in the right direction, we can bring it back to its former glory. Save a date mid novemeber next year ( approx ) for a big subie meet at Collie when the WRX owners club organises the 2 day event down there.
It's ripe for a big turn out, well run and perfect for everyone to get together over a couple of nights and sink some beers in the evening after some racing. I just hope RJ has no internet wherever he is fucking off to.

Seeing you sideways in my mirror 20 meters behind me today was what it's all about.

Interesting thread with some good points made all round. I don't necessarily think Facebook itself is killing places like p-wrx, the majority of people who frequent sowa for example would pop over once to ask a simple question, then off again into the great abyss when opinions on plastidipping wheels didn't suit them. It would appear more active, but would there be quality participation - I'm not sure.
I'm definitely interested in getting involved with some new club events if they found their way back into rotation. Like RichX I'm not a huge fan of cruising anymore, but RAC tuning days, social events etc could all be a hit. Going to Racewars earlier in the year and spending time with some of the members here was probably some of the greatest fun I've had around cars. Heck the odd cruise that does still happen under the P-WRX banner still brings big numbers. It would be interesting to hear input from some of the older members if they find their way to the thread.

Was very disappointed to move back to Perth, to see one of the best clubs in Perth fading away. Pwrx was huge 3yrs ago when we left Perth. Fb was around then etc.
Hope all the usual Pwrx crew are doing great and if an event is organized, am very keen to be part of it. Was disappointed to see that the CM cruise didn't happen this year too. That would have to be a first in a long time. |

I loved the cruise to York a couple of years back. Good feed at lunch time up there for those that hung around. Wouldn't mind doing that again. Also New Norcia cruise would b great as well.
