Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't handbraking round corners in
an AWD car bad for the transmission ?

correct me if im wrong but only dccd equipped cars have handbrake sensors so they open the diff up when you tugg the handbrake. the others dont.

but just clutch in and tag the ebrake.

You wil find that replacing only two of four tyres on a awd car is not a good idea! Check other forums such as nasioc or iwsti on this issue as well.
Cheers Dave

As Denver said, bet thing you can do for your car is get the suspension checked over by John at Wheels World or Wilkinsons.

http://www.carscene.com.au/outlets/wilkinson/index.htm

The very first mods I did on my car were a WhiteLine Handling Package.
It transformed MY99 WRX. Dramatically reduced understeer, and the thing would actually point where I turned it. I think a package costs around the $750 mark new (including wheel alignment) or you could always source the parts 2nd hand yourself. A cheaper option is just get a proper wheel alignment done.

I also suspect you have a massive toe out problem on the rear wheels too producing your oversteer problems. Other problems could be tyre pressures, what PSI are you running front/rear ?

Get you car sorted before you even look at driver training.

Jamie.

Depends on how far you want to go...Group 4's are pretty good though.

what rear sway bar is recommended, heard alot about white line

did a search for prices (quite cheap), but so much to choose from 22mm, 24mm etc

is this enough mods for suspension to produce maximum handling:

Coil overs
anti lift kit
sway bars
strut brace
