I can also recommend this system, have one on my car and with a retune managed 225hp/290Nm atw.....no probs so far.

Does it void your Car warranty at all by getting it fitted?

probably.

if you have a warranty issued that your drivers door squeaks, i reckon having an exhaust wouldn't be a problem

if your motor pings to death then yeah, i think you'd, be in trouble

Dont rely on what you hear though, talk to subaru and get the definitive word from them, thats the only way you will TRULY know

I am interested, how do I go with thre retune issue on an 03?

I recently bought a cat back 3" HKS silent exhaust but it just isnt loud enough (shoulda guessed by the name right?

). Anyway I have learnt my lesson and would want to hear it before paying up (either in RL or a video/sound file).

Not trying to be a pain in the ass or anything, just dont want to buy something Im not happy with.

Nightshift, altho the type of exhaust does play a big part in the sound it makes, even by having your car tuned differently alters the noise, i remeber back with my GC8, after it was tuned it was a louder/slightly different note. on my 2.5L with this exhaust system what i've found is at low rev's it's pretty subtle, and when your on the highway crusing (ie. to Perth, it doesn't give you a headache (my old car used to)) but when you open it up, it has the noise and seems to get pretty loud

All in all, im very happy with it, half the price of X-Force and looks very, very similar, both in design & construction. and if it gets damaged... it's half the price to replace
