Clutch slipping is one option, I prefer wheel spin. The idea is if the wheels break traction then the load is reduced. Slipping the clutch is good for first gear and a casual venture to the drags but not good for Autokhanas where you need the clutch to recover and continue to bite.
now listen up
Pull up to line in first and take up slack in drive train. Tap tap tap on accelerator, go by sound, try and not look at the tacho. As revs peak release clutch smoothly. About this time try and not mash the pedal to the floor but think 7/10 ths then when your off the line 10/10 ths, nearly at redline, grab second smoothly, 10/10ths...repeat

Start off with a high tyre pressure around 36 psi until you get the hang of it then as you gain confidence lower the pressure. Over accelerating on launch will have you spinning your wheels then grabbing second to early and bogging down. Launching to softly will cause you to bog down in first then hop hop pathetically down the line.
Disclaimer: If your worried about repair bills do not launch it hard! Point is the torque is what kills it and you can't slip it in second or third can you? What gears go the most...second and third.

Yeh as Chee said mate, dont touch the boost without a remap! If your on P plates and drive an 06 STi you've obviously got come cash. Go and spend 4k on a tbe exhaust and retune.
I run 15psi atm (change of turbo will fix that) but there are other 06's running 18-20psi (but have supporting mods too). There is no need to run 18-20 psi with a good tune!

I know its a WRX site but anyone got any tips on launching a 350z? At the moment I turn off VDC and drop the clutch at 2500. Not a serious clutch dump though
