So collie was freakin awesome. I had some fuel surge issues, which i was hoping I had fixed with my little cheap fuel surge tank. not so it seems at lunch time I ended up ripping the RC tank out and throwing it in the bin. Not before Blaise parked the bloody BBQ next to my car and fired it up with the fuel tank open

Unfortunately it didn't fix the problem, it only made it less worse as per the Collie thread, here is my best lap time, which included some fuel surge. Still plenty of time to go to catch up to the pointy end

sweet photo thanks to muggz

ended up parking the car up early as even with a full tank of fuel, i would still cut out at the corner before each straight. as mentioned, myself and stace just poured through the logs and there is a number of errors, including fuel pump and boost controller which have popped up multiple time. I think the RC surge tank was actually starving the pump as it couldn't pull fuel through quick enough.

I need to look at my braking system too. I was getting lockups in the rear a lot, and i almost wiped the slots clean off my discs in one day. I think these Indy car brake pads are just too aggressiv. They stop fantasticly but I don't have the brockas budget to just keep replacing the discs.

Drove it home Sunday and as it was in a pretty dirty state, washed the car and gave it a cut and polish. it looks pretty good from a few feet back, but boy do i regret it. I never realised how bad the paint was in some parts, found a few hundred more paint chips etc i did however manage to get rid of a lot of the jap smoke off the bootlid.

i genuinely dont think its surge, no lean spots under 100% throttle = no surge!

Agreed... Matt, you will not get surge on a full tank. In fact at Collie with a standard tank you should be able to get down to below 1/2 without problem. Surge occurs more on right handers and Collie being anti clockwise is basically all left handers.....

I had a weird surge/boost cut issue with my car a while ago so I installed a 2ltr Swirl pot and it still didnt solve the problem. Got a PowerFC + Tune and it solved it. I think i was maxing out my injectors and the engine would try and save itself by cutting fuel/boost.

Mods at that time were intake, exhaust, fmic, yellow tops and hks evc on a stock ecu running at 1bar.

Hope that helps Matt!
