I ended up getting a set of the Cusco Engine plus gearbox mounts landed for $380. I've yet to install them but I also still have Superpro gearbox mount to go in the car as well which should make it almost as loud as having the dog box back in the car when they are all fitted up.
Prepping for collie, I had a snapped front left drive shaft, left hand power steering rack boot split and half the dash still hanging out. I popped into Japanese Wholesale and saw Fats, picked myself up a pair of SVX front driveshafts which appear to have CV joints 50% bigger than the standard ones I was using. These would not break! I broke them. Turns out they are so big that the adjuster knob on the bottom of the DMS coilovers touches the boot, and before I even get the car on the trailer to head to Collie, I have split them both. A good start no? Also While trying to get the shafts into the car, I notice my sway bar is trying to knock a hole through the front cross member (NA swaybar in Turbo xmember) and that one of the swaybar mounts is threaded. So the car goes on the trailer, and I head down to Collie (Slowly: wtb turbo kit for 80 series landcruiser) The car pretty much behaves itself, except for shitting massive plumes of smoke out the exhaust after only a few laps. I've filled my catch can, yet again. In the following days I diagnose that the PCV vacuum on the catch can is a lower point than the feed from the heads, so the car has no choice but to suck in oil once the catch can filled. Oil = pinging, and my car did PLENTY of that. At the time though, I was certain I had fucked my motor, so had a hissy fit, packed up my shit and left. but not before cracking out a low 52 second lap, which is 3+ quicker than my previous attempts. So after washing the oil off the entire passenger side of the car, cleaning out the engine bay and catch can, I figured that my car has done laps of Collie with over a Litre of oil missing. I'm suprised it lasted at all! Since then i have done upper engine cleaner (never seen a car smoke so long) oil and filter, plugs, compressions test (mostly good) and had the car run up on the dyno at GTI performance. I also had new, smaller CV boots put on (Cheers to STechnic) All in all, the car looks healthy, and I seem to have dodged a fkn huge bullet, running collie with the car pinging, missing a litre of oil and not grenading Bring on evo vs wrx!

So I take it that the adjusters on your front DMS are not recessed then?
