Hi Ive just joined this site because i love wrx's. But the problem is that i don't have one

I recently got my license and would like to have an Impreza for my first car

My budget is $7.5K, preferably manual, under 180,000kms.

^^ As you have just gotten your licence, for a WRX your insurance budget could be $7.5K

Best of luck with your search for an impreza

Hey Dude,
Congrates on the licence... I would reccommend getting a RS2.5 or RX Impreza. Forget about a wrx because insurance will tear you a new one & you'll only have an old beaten up wrx.

Enjoy Your Stay

Although it's feasible to get an early wrx for $7.5K you would be looking at a car with well over 200K on the clock and probably not on it's first motor. Good luck with the search don't forget to low ball, most people think their gc8's are gold plated and consequently the majority of them are over priced.

Hey bud,

Speak to your parents first as getting them down on the drivers list is going to be a must, unless you're happy to spend your purchase price a year in insurance, or actually be able to get insurance

Buy a shitbox.
You will mis judge something and prang it.
When you get a grip on the whole driving thing, get a Suby.
7.5K will buy a box of leaking seals, ring blow by, the list goes on.
Save your money and buy a Barina, save more money and at 19 or 20 buy a WRX worth 20K.
Then you will be getting some value.

i totally agree with all before me.
if u get a GC8 its gonna be high K's n yeah probably not its first engine.
one day we all show off to a mate n prang it haha it happends to the best of us.
i've loved subies since i was a kid n im 23 n just bought my first WRX and yeah even then my insurance was 2k to start with.
had a 98 GC8 impreza 2L FWD before the wrx but saved up n snagged the bug for 17k
good things come to those who wait hahah (always wanted to say that)
but yeah as "Autopilot" said most CG8's are overpriced keep in mind how old they are now.
