Don't think it will fit with that intercooler?

Alright guys, i havent posted for ages on this car, but once again heaps has changed. I seem to find that I always have a list of things to do on it.

This is how it currently looks:

Recently I sold my R34 skyline, so I put a bit more cash into the wrx once again. I am now past the point of no return, have spent way too much money and am so in love with it, im sure i wont be selling this one for years.

Since my last post I now have done the following:

-Apexi turbo timer
-Removed boost gauge, and got a powerfc hand controller to monitor
-Remounted my DVD screen and tuned up the stereo
-Had dentcraft come and pull out every dent that was possible
-Put sticker on rear window for JDM-ness
-Got a rear window visor, ebay spec
-Got a lip custom made for gc8, painted and installed
-Picked up and installed 06 wrx stock bov
-Had first class customs, install window banner and tint indicators / taillights
-Sourced a couple of interior parts of a wreck so the interior is now 100%
-Removed the sti enkei rims, sitting in the shed until somebody buys them

Currently I have just recieved Sti pedal, which i havent put on yet, I also just took in a mesh front grill and replica 22b bonnet vents to be painted.

In future I am going to:

- Fit the above

-Once i sell my sti enkei rims i will stance it out on white work xd9's in an agressive offset, will most likely need camber bolts and also swap the king springs out for coil overs to make it not hit, and i find the king springs a bit too stiff for everyday driving anyway.

- To compliment the above, I was told that ferodo make a white brake pad, so the dust comes out white, but I havent looked into it yet.

-Looking at getting stock gc8 drivers seat and mounting the fire extingusher to it. The leather is too slippery for track work, so this will be an easy swap in and out everytime i go to the track. Also looking at getting a 4 point harness.

-C-west front lip, coz they look absolutely boss!!

-Pod filter box, as last time i washed my car, it wouldnt start until it dried out, also makes it less yellow-able

-Adjust the whiteline sway bars, as last time at the track it under steered like a bitch, but both front and rear are on soft so this is expected. Any suggestions on what setting for this?

-Also was boost spiking / cutting when i was at the rac centre last week, so i will get that checked out

- I think the stock clutch is starting to wear, hasnt slipped yet, but can always smell it, even when not driven hard. It also shudders randomly when taking off. So will grab an exedy HD clutch.

- While the gearbox is out for the above i will get it inspected, and replace any synchros that are showing signs of wear. Is there any way to make a 5 speed stronger without thousands of dollars?

And that's it for now, but I am sure I will end up doing a million more things to it!!
TROLLEY and DukeDrifter like this.

replacing synchos would be way too expensive and not worth doing on a 3.54. get a 4.44 sti box that would probz a better option? also means less/no shudder on downshift?

Only way really to beef up 5 speed is t start changing gears for straight cuts etc. which is big bucks, the receipt for my gearbox on my old car was just shy of 7k to do 1st-4th straight cuts.
I really like the rear window visor, looks good!

sounds like a good option, i dont have shudder on downshift, only when taking off, and only sometimes.

Does this require diff change?

Shudder on take off is normally clutch/flywheel related

My GC8 has done this since 2005 and 80,000kms on the clock.
Now at 2013, 212xxxkms and onto 2nd OEM clutch.

It sometimes does it, most times doesn't.

I suspect its a GC8 thing.

To be honest, i probably dont even need to change anything, hasnt grinded or anything. Just thought that while its out i may aswell get it looked at, but if its gonna cost that much i will just put it back in. It has the redline oil now, and feels fine.
