I suppose it's considered 'recreational' as it's not commercial, but mostly tec diving now. I still enjoying throwing a single tank on now and then, but it's pretty rare to see me without two or more. I've seen the masks you speak of, but I've got a fairly heavy brow, and have to opt for a single glass lens or end up getting headaches from the pressure. So it's really just as easy to go sidemounting, throw a helmet on, attach the GoPro and away you go. Freelance Drift Diver? Is that comm work or something?

yeah, as a mask the liquidimage's are a terrible fit and the lenses make you feel like your looking out of tiny portholes, but still get great POV footage and not much can go wrong with them. helmet and gopro underwater would work fine yeah.. drift diving is getting towed behind a boat like a trawler collecting wild pearlshell for pearlfarms to operate.. we use hookah's mostly but have small bailout bottles on for emergency's. do 8-9 40 min bottom time dives a day with 100% oxygen decompressions at 9m. ive been doing this for 10 years now and still love it. one of the cowries i found helped fund my sti when i sold it for 17k! what do you mean by tec diving? research? i do a little work for fisheries too when its around collecting samples and what not, also done my share of underwater drilling and jackhammering, mooring work,, but its not my cup of tea these days.
lol at your photos btw! trippers!

9 metres on 100% That's a PP02 of 1.9! Crazy

Anyway, tec diving seems to have lots of different definitions, but the one I tend to go with is diving that extends beyond recreational limits in terms of time, depth and environment (caverns/caves/wrecks). And nearly always includes mandatory decompression with gases other than air or nitrox. And a lot of the time, but not always, using multiple cylinders. Hence why I still consider it 'recreational' in the sense that it's still sport diving, but at the same time prolonged deep diving or penetration diving with extensive deco stops as opposed to a simple safety stop hardly makes it recreational.

Maybe a few more photos for the fans.
