Default Seat Install

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone's well.

Just wondering if anyone knows how I can change the seat from original to Recaro seat? I bought a pair and wanted to install them.

How easy is it to DIY or is it better to get professionals to do it?

If so where would I go in Perth for something like this?

Thanks guys, hope to hear from you soon

What car? What seat model? There are brackets available to make this a direct bolt on job.

buy the brackets for the model of the seats to suit the model of your car and bolt them in yourself. it takes half an hour at the most

You will require seat rails to suit Recaro seats (these allow the seat to slide back and forward), and a seat base to suit your specific car model. Seats can come in side or bottom mount, so get the correct rails for the mounts that you require.

Side Mount (Usually for fixed-position racing buckets)

Bottom Mount (Usually for reclining seats)

- Seat rails bolt to seat using supplied bolts
- Seat base bolts to seat rails using supplied bolts
- Your old seatbelt buckles bolt to seat base (Don't sell your old seats with them attached, they're hard to get a hold of!)
- Your seat assembly bolts into the car using the existing seat bolts and mounting points.

I fitted a pair of Recaros to my GC8 Impreza, bought the seats from Gumtree and GC8 Recaro seat bases and Recaro rails from Idealseat over east.

Are they 'Subaru' Recaros or fixed back race seats?

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your reply, sorry I seem to not give enough info

The car is a 99 WRX, the standard seat is the limited edition Beige leather seat and the Recaro I bought was a replica but seems to be in good quality.

Do you think I can adapt to the original rail?

Thanks again guys for all the help
