last dyno at Terry Wilson in Melbourne was 297awkw at 15psi, so power shifting was near redline, clutch 2nd, bang, chewed 2nd clean off main shaft and synchro missing teeth almost all way round, don't shift quite as aggressive 1st to 2nd anymore, and free rev to shift down now, like double clutching

Power shifting, not double clutching like you should. Lucky the 297awkw from a VF22 didnt blow the welds on your intake.
Startodo, Patch, Bram and 1 others like this.

I wouldn't be trying to squeeze out any more than 300hp from an 18 year old EJ205.
I'd be doing what i said earlier, going for a more modern, responsive, mid range orientated turbo and getting a retune. It'll feel faster, and will probably GO faster around a windy little track like Winton.

I personally wouldn't be going for eBay turbos, but there are people out there that have done, and have had success. I also know others that haven't.

Dom 1.5 XTR

Surprised a 17 year old ej205 has lasted this long at nearly 300whp
