Errr, he was going on about the difference in the lamp posts "in the UK".

I dont think many would care about "in the UK". Those who would, havent been subjected to a conversation where the all the person talks about is "in the UK..." Makes for a very boring conversation I must say.

Shit, that must be one happy 16 year old.

And to the OP, as others say get a cheap and reliable car and make sure you don't get a lemon, My N/A impreza was awesome but in the first year I spent more then what the car was worth in servicing alone but then again I drove the shit out of my car and didn't worry because it was and kind of still is a POS so another scratch here and there didn't phase me. Even when I crashed it at collie I wasn't to worried and I would rather crash a $4k rx instead of a $20k + wrx, so start off small and work your way up

Ohh and definetley do some RAC track days and drive on as many different surfaces/types of roads and conditions.

Best $$$ you can spend, no point having a fast car but a slow driver.

Then you are not ready for the responsibility of a high performance car yet. Give it some more time.

Just a stab in the dark, but I think it was a maturity oriented statement?
