The lap timer at the moment needs to have a preset track configured for it. Auto plotting a race track will come in a later build if there's enough demand for it.

BTW those who ordered and are buying for an Autronic ECU need to let me know if you want me to source the autronic-laptop cable for you from Autronic themselves, price is $44 + postage.

Is it easy to set up a preset track, ie can google earth be used, or can the user set a point on the track where the times are set from, press a button and every time you pass the same point a lap is made?

Are there any WA tracks preset, eg Wannaro and Collie?

Cheers

the ECUDatascan manual explains how to preset a track. It's not the easiest task in the world I admit.

The lap timer was hastily added for a magazine review last summer. It does need some more work though (but when I tested it, it worked fine).

I thought the manual was pretty comprehensive in explaining how to create a track. I am sure the more photo shop savvy members would be willing to share....

Cant wait until it arrives now though.....

Programming is my thing - I read the howto on the site for converting from Google Earth paths to the required format, and if anyone needs a Windows app knocked up to help out with the conversion I'm happy to have a go.
