Question Help! Tyre shopping is so confusing!!

I wanna get new tyres for my rims that i will be receiving soon. Rim size is 17x7.0. What tyre make and size would you informative Subaru owners recommend?
Hoping for prices below $200 per tyre but may be able to stretch it to $300.
So basically, what tyres do you think are best for this rim size under $200, and what are best for under $300?

I didnt ask about long life out of the tyres - I said I wanted something nice and grippy - thats what they came back with. There's probably other tyres out there in same price range as good or better, but ya gotta trust the opinion given from a professional....to a certain degree anyhow.

True. The guys from 2 different tyre places recommended Nexen N3000 tyres. I've never heard of them either. But couldn't find much information about them on the net

My old man just put Nexen tyres on his Caprice, they are SO quiet and have an awesome tread pattern on them, they are pretty good value too, I think they are made in the US.

I have Kumho's on my 01, much better than the last pieces of shite on my car.

Just got some new tyres on my car. did a bit of research and concluded that u get what u pay for.
Around the $300 mark i would look at dunlop direzzas dz101, toyo T1Rs, yokohama AVS es100 perhaps, but i finally settled on bridgestone re070s (closer to $350 a corner).
around the $200 mark i would look at the kumho or toyo range.
hope that helps.

I did some research and i think the Nexens are made in Korea, but as i said before, couldn't find much info on them.
