What he said... KAPS from all reports are very good products. Is that the local (rally) Alex Stone who sent you the reply? If so take a look at his rally car...apparently has a very good sequential just installed...probably a KAPS?

yeah happanrently its one in the same Alex. I wouldn't mind catching up with him to see/feel the thing in the flesh. I heard a few chinese whispers about all these shinanagans today. honestly, the more i try to justify all this, at the end of the day i find it utterly impossible to relate to kaps (well the gear kind, not the smoking type) it just doesn't scream out to me in terms of quality unlike these well known "aussie" names such as peter holinger, sam shalak, frank modena, simon pfitzner and ivan albins. once barry smith does a gearset im sold!

the real purpose of this thread was to spark a healthy discussion about sequential options for our cars, nothing more.

for the money holinger was proposing for a sequential mechanism, it should be no problems engineering a rear housing to support a sequential system, its only but a bunch of electrically activated hydraulic solinoids directly ripping up and down on the selector forks (wrc style). gear stick can then be replaced with a lever action switch and then either directly feed the motec for igniton cut or the motec could directly up/downshift (with blip) the mechanisim on the gearbox (silvio style).
