So to sum up, here are the differences.

EJ205 - Square dished piston, open deck
EJ207 cast - dished piston with valve relief, semi-closed deck block
EJ207 forged - dished piston with raised centre and valve relief, semi-closed deck block.

I have ACL forged pistons in mine and they are the exact same design as the EJ205 pistons but forged.

Also as a point of interest, I read somewhere that Subaru claim the Hypereutectic pistons are 120% stronger than the Forged ones.

the 207 rods are a different material to 205's.

Arn't they also slightly thicker as well?
