Your walbro. When you installed it, did you install it with the walbro filter sock on the bottom of the pump? And if you did, was it one of the earlier small ones or the new ones that are the same size as the OEM filter sock.

The earlier small ones have been known to cause surging issues even with more than 1/2 a tank of fuel.

Umm... I can't remember what was done, I might take the pump out tomorrow and have a look, maybe get a few happy snaps, you know, for the kids to look at. Thanks.

I dont know where you can buy a new walbro filter sock, but the OEM one fits the walbro pump fine. Thats what im using. So either did up your old one or buy a new one from Subaru.

I just remembered Ive got a new Walbro Fuel filter sock from my own install seeing as I reused my OEM sock. If you want it. Let me know. Trade you for some alcohol.

^ Confirmed ^
Use the OEM sock. You will still suffer surging but significantly less. Mainly right hand corners....you can pioneer some in fuel tank baffles as some shops in the east have done...This is probably the cheapest option once you fix your sock. Otherwise go external surge tank/dual pump or in tank Anti Surge Device as per Subaru RA Spec C/or the same thing from MRT. Why someone has not fabricated a solution in Perth is beyond me?? Then again I have the in tank ASD, purchased cheap, before they became as rare as rocking horse manure

Just a bit of an update. I took the car out for a spin with the Power FC hand controller plugged in and at full noise in a straight line the IDC hit a maximum of 86%. Also pulled the pump out with the intention of getting an OEM one, but the Subaru dealer around from my place won't sell me the filter on its own, only if I buy a pump to go with it. Anyway, here is a photo of the pump, as I have the feeling this is the standard filter anyway. Cheers guys.
