Default Am I The Only Person That Hates Surges?

Hmmmm sounds like the fuel pump isnt getting enough fuel. Might have to ask around but would Astralex be in need of an anti-surge tank? Mid corner would usually mean the fuel isnt flowing to one side and the pump isnt able to collect the fuel....this is bad as it could lean your car out.

I wouldnt hoof it too much till its sorted.

I've got a Walbro high flow in it. May as well help make it a bit easier for the gurus. 99 wrx, aps top mount, tbe, power fc with z32 afm, vf30 and fuel pump. At one stage I got told my injectors might not be big enough, but I don't see how that would only make a difference mid corner.

Neg. A MY99 will have injectors of 440cc and are big enough to flow up to 300hp (from memory or more). I am really leaning towards your fuel pump not being able to collect fuel as it happens on corners. Your PowerFC should log injector duty percentage like mines on the hand controller. Check them out. I think with 650cc injectors my IDC is currently 70% with WOT. Throw your throttle to 100% and see what Injector Duty Cycle percentage comes up.

OK, mid corner or just on straights to see the IDC? I don't really understand why it wouldn't do it before though. I've been throwing it around a bit, but then last night it was a bit wet and went into a corner a little bit hot and then it decided to surge and has been every now and then since.

Just driving straight put your foot down. Drive her hard and fast and it should come up with an IDC. If it was your injectors, would it even surge? Im pretty sure you just wouldnt make anymore power as it cant flow anymore fuel into the chamber.

Either your Fuel pump is on the way out, or its fuel surging.
