make sure your wheels are not close to the wiring that is protected by the plastic arch liners, enough rubbing through of the looms that run either side in the front guards would mean dead car on the side of the road, or possible fire from shorts..

Better to pull them out than to have them fly off at high speed and cause damage - that has happened to me twice.

i need to do the same to my car, rubs where ever i go on the wheel guards! I went to take them off last week but to me it looks like the AIRBAG sensors are really close to coming into contact with something, would this be a problem?

Also i best it would be yellow sticker material ay?

Had this happen on the freeway. Scary!! I put stiffer springs in with a new subaru wheel arch lining and genuine plugs. Cost a stack. haha At least they dont rub anymore.

+1 - You'll see a nice big bright yellow wiring loom running above the RH wheel liner. All it will take is a well targetted rock or stick to flick up, or some spirited driving causing rubbing and you're gonna be in some pain ($'s).

IMO Subaru put the liners there for a reason

Well, pulled the liners off this morning, made sure none of the wires will rub, plugged some holes, sprayed under the guards with sound deadner and rust proof, and the fucker still rubs, ggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... think it rubs just past where the liners sat on the metal, will have to suss it all out once the new rims on I think!!! At least it's one more off the list...

not sure, but they don't really show signs of rubbing there, maybe, there's scuff marks on the inside though.. the car runs -2 degree of camber on the front with 205/50/16 on the stock rims... will be going to 225 or 215 /45/17 on new rims.. gunna have to lift kit it...
