Hate to break it to all of you.......
If you are running a mechanical boost gauge or cheap digital gauge or even any NON self-calibrating software to read CAN data - then you aren't seeing the 'actual' boost pressure because none of them take into account the current (live) atmospheric pressure. All map based ECU's do - so what the tuner see's is the actual boost pressure with atmospheric variance taken into account - what you see isn't. Vi-pec lists it as BAP (Barometric Absolute Pressure) 102kpa in the pic below:
