yeah diy doesnt take that long the hardest part is undoing the bolts near the turbo the rest is a piece of cake ..otherwise take it to any workshop should cost around the $100-$150 mark was what i was quoted would take them about 2 hours to do ..

Did the search but no luck on what I need so thought this will do.
I wanna get my hands on a 3 inch TBE for my car. Running gear is pretty much stock ADM MY98. I know the bugeye and onwards can be verso'd, and the 99/00 cant. I have heard whispers that the earlier models are more friendly to mods, and will self learn/ compensate. Dont have alot of cash to throw at it at this stage so ecu swap is out for now. Will it cause any damage if I get a TBE on it or am I best to leave it as is? Getting a bit sick of how quite the thing is. |

my 98 is and has been running fine with TBE and no tune for years.

An aftermarket 3" exhaust can be put onto a '98 or '03 without tune and the car will run safely. Of course, a retune or replacement ECU will allow you to get more benefit than just an exhaust alone, but obviously many people are on a tight budget.
It's only MY06 onwards that absolutely require a retune when an exhaust is fitted. |

I did my bugeye on my own...with a mates help tho..kinda helps when u cbf'd trying to get them turbo nuts off anymore..bit of crc n just take it in turns...the rest it piss easy. oh btw..i wouldnt bother putting the heat shield back on as u need to cut it...total mission and looks better without..FYI
