Give JWS a call & see if you can get a good VF23, brilliant all round turbo.

well doctor doctor gave me the news.

Good news He tried everything and couldnt get it to smoke what so ever
says that valve could have just been stuck and leaked a bit of oil in.

he said to see if it happens again then well do somthing but at this stage seems like its ok, so for now top oil up and see how it goes.

Damn half of me wanted a vf34 the other half knows wrong time to be spending money lol

white smoke and plenty of it....turbo seals. They just go and it's not about someone mistreating the car. Ballbearing turbos dont have seals

Could well be the old buildup of oil in the intercooler scenario if it's intermittent.
All Subaru engines tend to chuck (differing amounts of) oil up into the intercooler especially after hard driving or track work...can build up after a while then will burn off. No real prevention solution, but an oil catch can can catch it..
