You could just trace the wiring from the keypad to find where it is hidden...

Mine was located on the drivers side, bolted to the brace that mounts the steering column, very close to the radio.

mate check this lib site
it has a few pics showing the module and what the three relays look like
it will give you a good idea of where you need to touch up the solder joints
http://www.ozliberty.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10172
and note the warning
DO NOT UNPLUG THE MODULE AT ANY STAGE.
This may cause the alarm to require the mastercode.

although you can disconect the cable that runs to the keypad - I have done this....

I just had my battery changed by RAC. The guy connected the terminals to a small power supply while changing. the car now starts and the brant keypad flashes, but it does not need a code anymore, any ideas? It asked for the code when i tried to jump start it early today.

hey guys tried to start my wrx my05 this morning. put in the brant code, turned the key and the car wouldn't start. took the key out and tried again but all the warning lights just clicked on and off and the brant keypad wouldnt' light up anymore.

disconnected the car battery and reconnected it to see if that would restart the keypad. it worked but when i put in the PIN code, it no longer works. have i reset the PIN by accident?

battery is currently being charged by a battery charger plugged into AC. plan to connect it back up to the car tomorrow.

chances of it working? what happens if my PIN no longer works?
