Default backfiring,blowing smoke. hesitation to hit boost

hey guys i got a rs libbo with a 96 wrx motor dropped in it... took it for a drive today and all of a sudden starts to backfire loud on down shift. (wikked ) but hesitates to hit boost. also blowing some smoke...

mods are zorst,BOV, walbro pump, 95 ra injectors, FMIC and a tune just done 2 weeks ago... i hope its nothing to serious

AFM its in the pipe from your air filter... try unplugging it if it fixes it its that mate.

ah k so u think AFM is cactus? idles rough aswell if that helps... its not a z32 ust a norm wrx 1

Check for air leaks. And clean the AFM hotwire with electrical contact cleaner.

Also check the coils. At this age, they can start to break down spark when you start to make decent power.

Alright so unplug the afm and start the car?? I got the Bosch coilpack but prob should make the gap smaller on the plugs itself... But wat would cause the smoke?? Hope not the motor seeing I had a compression test done on it 4 weeks ago.. Read 125 across all 4's MAN I H8 PROBLEMS

Bosch coils are good. No worries there then.

Standard gap is 0.8mm.

Yeh.. Just tryn to source the problem.. Smoke scares me oil is probably a little low so that could be it but wat do u think?
