Rough Idling, Smoke, lack of boost, Backfiring. Could be cracked piston ring ?

Dunno I hope not... Done a compression test on it only month ago nd all read well.. And it's only set to 12 psi haven't been giving shit that much either.. But things can happen..

Yeah, if you got a compres test only few months ago and it was all good piston rings should be all good... but your right shit can happen ! best to get another one just to be sure!

It's a 96 model engine though yeah? Unless its been rebuilt you'd be doing well for it be holding together still 14 years later. The prognosis doesnt sound good with white smoke, but could well be the turbo.

Yeh a 96 model but has lowish kms.. Turbo is near enuff new vf35 might take it to fats get him to check it out.. If so motor is fukd prob rebuild or ej207

when asg upgraded my injectors the plugs fouled and i had to get new ones, but they fixed all that up

i cant find anyleaks with my eye.. AFM i unpluged today and let it sit on idle for a few seconds nd idled fine then put back in nd went shit again... but was still blowing a bit of like smoke and smell unburnt fuel from the exhaust??

you need to replace your afm to start with, unplugging it will make it run on a base reading, thats why the idle was fine until you plugged it back in, as the afm is giving a false reading due to being faulty, id say afm will be your problem with the back firing and hesitation, once replaced you will be able to drive to allstar

ah k thanx.. but would the afm cause unburnt fuel and bit of smoke like condnsation type of smoke?
