Default 207 questions

ok ive done my searches on forums and decided on an EJ207 for my 98 wrx.
i just have a few questions

a) are there any cons to getting a stroker kit for the 207 to make it a 2.2l?

b) the car is currently my daily but ill be trying to take it to the strip and track a bit with the new motor so i want plenty of power im going to have to upgrade the obvious things like the brakes and gearbox but is the stuff post gearbox going to need an upgrade or is it ok to leave it stock?

c) would like some advice on what would be the best turbo as i have little to no experience with turbos?

im sure ill think of more questions the more i think about it and would really appreciate all advice given

a) there's no replacement for more displacement!
b) ...
c) vf34 is a popular turbo as it has power potential and quick spool

a) wont be as free revving, but has more torque down low
b) rear diff should be fine, you will have to change ratio to match the gearbox though
c) VF34/35 if you want a reasonable price one, or can go crazy with other brands.

2.2 will rev fine, its the heads that will restrict the rpm. I happily saw 9k from the JUN 2.2.

Before anything further, whats your budget and time frame?

budget atm is about 12k for the engine and turbo i cant afford a gbox upgrade atm so im gonna have to drive it nice till then but hopefully i should be able to afford that soon and timeframe is as long as it takes to a)get the money and b) get it done
i kinda want the best and i want it to last so i dont really have a problem with putting money into it as i earn it :P
