probably another dumb question but will my heads fit onto the 257 until i can afford new ones? and ive also read that 257's have to get engineered. if this is the case does it cost much or is it just a headfck?
2 Litre heads fit yep.

Although if you put it together, you'll just have to pay to get it pulled out again...

gah so many different views is the 257 really a pig to drive daily?
i do want the hp but i live in the hills therefore most of my driving is up n down hills and i kinda need the torque. on that note stroking a 207 is looking like an expensive option?

2.5 is a better daily driver than a 2.0.

yea the only prob with that is my budget and i dont really think i should spend all my money on the engine without even looking at suspension or more importantly brakes.

The above would be a very quick combo for a street driven rex.

b) the car is currently my daily but ill be trying to take it to the strip and track a bit with the new motor so i want plenty of power
EJ207 without question.

You want lagless low/mid range punch and torque, opt for a twin scroll setup instead of the vf34, there's a reason why the japs still swear by that setup in the cooking models. It may be worth securing a complete spec C engine instead. There are many options but dont go trying to reinvent the wheel when the knowledge is already there.

DO NOT GO 257. Notice that was all in capitals.

Seriously if you ant a 2.5 to last you will need more like what Tino has spent to make it reliable. See 40k. Not 12k.

207 is an awesome engine that is all done. Just bolt your heads to that, chuck some nice cosworth cams in. Motec or Power fc. Big turbo, fuel pump, fuel rails, etc.

For you info GTR ETA is Sean who is the tuner at ASG and he is running a internally stock 207 and just did a 10.3 quarter mile. Best thing to do would be choose a tuner/workshop and ask them They will tell you what to do, then do exactly that.

can i chuck a 207 in drive it round till i get more money and then get a stroker kit for it?
and can the stroked 207 still handle high boost? eg 25psi? or even 30 if im feelin adventurous.
