Get a walbro or Bosch 910/040. I was talking with a bloke recently about his 044 and my mates skyline had an 044. Both seem to run out of fuel on 1/4 of a tank. I dont understand, they must just be installed wrong, but seems to be a general consensis on the 044.

Im pretty sure people get their rods/crowns etc blue printed for a reason. You'd want to be very sure the bores are clearn and crisp otherwise you'll end up getting a washed crown, shit rings, and burn oil like your osama bin laden.

On a side note, i noticed my PowerFC has a knock sensor (thank god for it), i was actually wondering in what does the PowerFC measure knock in? Neutons? And where would the sensor be located? As far as i was aware, when there was a 'knock' it was a detenation within the chamber? Can someone educate me prease

Thanks,

Eric.

P.S. Sorry for being semi-offtopic.

I have an 044 in my v6 sti, no dramas with mine down to empty (not that it gets that low often). The fuel starve problem is caused by people not checking the length of the fuel pump and support assembley against the original pump/ support / sock filter assembley. If it ends up shorter than stock then the 044 won't touch the bottom of the tank and cause surge issues at low fuel levels. seen this 1000 times, Walbro is shorter than stock and must have a longer outlet hose fitted.

The factory knock sensor is a piezeo sensor (basically it's a microphone), it outputs a voltage to the ecu, when the engine knocks it causes the sensor to output a voltage spike that the ecu reads as knock.

The sensor is located under the inlet manifold near the center of the upper crank case (looks like a thick washer with a bolt throught the center).

HTH!

no: Sump, oil pump, oil pick up or gaskets.

How much are you paying for the 207 short?

If it's not under $2800 pm me for a deal.

buy a new STI oil pump whilst your at it....... cheap insurance.
